However the game have some annoying stuff, like your gun being changing every single minute, a think that could be sometimes a extra enemy, per exemple when you are fighting against a strong bosses or some strong enemies and in the begging your weapon it’s good but after change to a terrible one, that isn’t coo and can be sometimes frustrating. The stages are well designed and the enemies are almost all the same from the first game, with some that could be removed, like that bullet that just push yourself, don’t giving any damage.
the environment that the game creates it’s great, However, there is a lot that does not make sense to me whatsoever, first off the default gun mode you’re given is one which changes every so often, and you’re encouraged to go on hitless streaks to make it more powerful, this creates a HUGE rng element to the game as you might get a terrible gun during a flood of tough enemies and there’s not a lot you can do, then your combo is ruined and it just snowballs against you too quickly at times, i just wish it was more forgiving and varied, every run feels black or white, either a clear win, or just pure ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Granted there is a mode to be able to obtain guns as normal, but it just doesn’t fit the game at all, there’s way less opportunities to get money therefore making it kinda inefficient to be buying guns. Ost, sound design and visuals are all very clean looking, you can definitely tell its a step up from the first game in that regard, and the controls work nicely in the game too, gungeon’s production value has never been bad and the same applies here. Of this game is drastically different from enter the gungeon for the fact its on a 2 plane, opposed to isometric this makes dodging a lot harder, but they added jump rolls and drop rolls to compensate, even though i think at times, its just not enough for the clutter that can happen, but the actual gun fights and bosses themselves generally are fun, they have a nice progression and there’s less overly annoying bosses, even if some are easier than others, the balance is a lot better than gungeon boss wise. In terms of story, its light but does serve as a somewhat fitting epilogue to the original.
There’s definitely a learning curve to get over when you first pick up the game.
It ditches the rogue-like dungeon crawler format of Enter the Gungeon in favor of a vertically scrolling platform shooter.
If you do not want to bother playing this on your computer, it is free with Apple Arcade! Exit the Gungeon does pack a wallop of a punch in terms of mindless fun. Although not as fast paced as Enter the Gungeon, it still holds its own pace and allows for a challenging yet rewarding game! It is only 2D which I am not a huge fan of but it is smooth as the first game. The sequel to Enter the Gungeon, Exit the Gungeon is an amazing game that still manages to reach my expectation.
